Wow! It has been 10 years since my mom was diagnosed with Alzheimer's! This month marks one decade we have been walking as a family in support of those living with and caring for those with Alzheimer’s.

It has been a difficult journey as we saw the strong women we once knew grow increasingly confused and forgetful. Nevertheless, she shows her love and care through holding your hand, a little smile or a gentle giggle. 

We came close to losing her this past December, which was a hard journey to walk through.  With lots of prayer and support she said “not quite yet, Lord”.  She has been off of all medications (except those to keep her comfortable) and simply taking one day at a time. We are honored and blessed to spend a little bit more time with her.   

We walk in honour of my Mom, Connie, and in memory of her Mom, Elinore, who passed away in 2019, ultimately from dementia.
