Even though there are over 62,000 people diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias in Alberta and the Northwest Territories, I recently learned that the Alzheimer Society of Alberta and Northwest Territories is one of the only health charities/nonprofits in the region that do not receive core government funding for many of its support services and relies heavily on donations, fundraising, and community support to provide programs and services.
This cause is especially meaningful to me because of my great-grandmother. She has been my living guardian angel, and much of who I am today is because of her love, sacrifices, guidance, and care throughout my life. Watching someone you love age and witnessing the realities of dementia is incredibly emotional, especially when that person has given so much of themselves to others.
Help me raise money on behalf of the Alzheimer Society so they can continue meeting the growing demand for programs and services, and thank you for whatever donation you can make. No matter how small or big, you are making a difference in the lives of people affected by dementia.
Thank you again for your generous commitment and support!
