On Friday, May 15th, 2026, at around 3:00 PM, Wendy passed away peacefully. With clarity and courage, she chose medical assistance in dying, allowing herself to leave this world with dignity, on her own terms.
Wendy lived a life full of passion and purpose. Many knew her through the Vancouver Island Region Porsche Club of America, where she served as an active member and director. Even after dementia took away her ability to drive, her commitment to community never faded.
For more than thirty winters, Wendy volunteered every weekend at Mount Washington Alpine Resort as a Mountain Host. In the summers, she could be found tending the gardens in front of the lodge, helping create the welcoming atmosphere so many visitors enjoyed. This spring, Mount Washington honoured her remarkable 30 years of service with a heartfelt introduction at the annual staff party, along with a commemorative plaque and a bundle of well‑earned appreciation.
On Sunday, May 31, her friends and supporters will be taking part in the IG Wealth Management Walk for Alzheimer’s, presented by Go Auto—the largest fundraising event for the Alzheimer Society of BC and Yukon.
Wendy believed deeply in this walk. She participated in the last three events in honour of her mother, Mildred, and her dear friend, Bev. Walking was her way of showing love, remembrance, and hope.
This year, we invite you to walk in Wendy’s spirit.
Walk for her strength.
Walk for her kindness.
Walk for the joy she brought to her communities.
Walk because she would have been there—cheering, supporting, and stepping forward with purpose.
By joining the walk, you help carry forward the compassion and dedication that defined Wendy’s life.
But this walk is about more than one story.
We walk for every person living with dementia.
For every caregiver, family member, and friend.
For every moment of connection, courage, and care.
