Hello friends and family!

I am again participating in the IG Wealth Management "2026 Walk  For  Alzheimer's" to raise money in support of the estimated 85,000 British Columbians living with dementia and Alzheimer's.

Marilyn was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s over 10 years ago now although we realize now that the disease was present long before. Due to mobility change brought on by the disease and increasing complications she became a resident of The Hamlets at Westsyde in mid February 2021, was there over 4 1/2 years. Fortunately, I got in most every day to feed her supper. She had to be spoon fed for over 5 years. If i was out of town on business,  we had a great back up of family members and friends who gave Marilyn this personal attention. 

Unfortunately Marilyn passed away August 26th, 2025. We were 1 month from our 52nd anniversary. I am proud we lived every day to the fullest. I believe one of the goals of living with Alzheimer’s is to keep on living as normal a life as possible - although some people question my definition of "normal".

Thank you in advance for your kind and generous support, it means the world to us! It is particularly important to others in the early stages of the disease, when they can most benefit from programs by the society, assisting them on their road to acceptance and living to your best potential, Together, we can Make Memories Matter.
