In 2024, I shared that I carry the APOE3/4 gene variant, which increases the risk of developing Alzheimer’s disease.
While it doesn’t mean I will develop it, it’s a powerful reminder that our health and time are not to be taken for granted.
Alzheimer’s is a heartbreaking disease that continues to affect more families each year.
That’s why I’ve supported the Alzheimer Society through the annual Walk for more than 10 years now. I will continue to do so today, even though I won’t be able to join the walk in person this year.
Instead, I’ll be in Belgium, visiting my parents and running the race “20kms of Brussels.”
I’ll be dedicating my run to my dear clients and friends of mine who passed away far too young. While they did not pass away from Alzheimer’s, it reminds us how fragile and precious life is.
I will be running in memory of those clients and friends who didn’t get to do all the things they dreamed of.
In addition to supporting the Alzheimer Society, I’ll also be matching any amount we raise together and contributing that to my foundation, which supports a variety of meaningful causes.
If this message resonates with you, I’d be honored if you’d support this effort.
Every donation helps families facing Alzheimer’s and brings us one step closer to better treatments—and one day, a cure.
