On Sunday, May 31, I will be participating in the IG Wealth Management Walk for Alzheimer’s at Lafarge Lake. Registration starts at 9:00 AM and the walk begins at 10:00 AM.

This walk is very personal to me as my dad passed away in 2021 after being diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer’s Disease. Watching someone you love go through this disease and change completely is incredibly difficult. It doesn’t only affect the person living with the disease but it affects their loved ones.

I started participating in the walk in 2022 and I have continued every year since. This walk is a way to honour my dad, raise awareness, and support other individuals and families going through similar experiences.

Funds raised help provide programs, education, and support services for people living with dementia and their families through the Alzheimer Society of BC and Yukon.
