On Sunday, May 31, I’m participating in the Alzheimer Society of BC and Yukon’s largest fundraising event – the IG Wealth Management Walk for Alzheimer’s, presented by Go Auto. The Walk provides an opportunity for communities to take action to change the future for the more than 85,000 British Columbians living with dementia and the people who care for them.
Walk route: The gentle 2 km walk route follows the waterfront path running from Fisherman’s Wharf Park to Peter Pollen Waterfront Park and back. It is a flat and accessible route. Participants can walk according to the pace and distance they feel comfortable with. Route marshals along the route can provide assistance if needed.
Funds raised will help provide in-person and virtual programs, services and education for families facing dementia, providing the support they need to maintain the best possible quality of life throughout the progression of the disease, as well as enabling critical research to change the future of the disease.
