Once again, I am helping the Grass Home Strollers support the Alzheimer's Society. On May 22nd, I will be walking with many of my residents and coworkers to help raise not only funds but also to help raise awareness for the Alzheimer's Society of New Brunswick. It is a cause very near and dear to our hearts. This is a special event each year for many of our residents. It contributes to a sense of community and they love being a part of this special event. To add to the fun, rumour has it that some staff members may be taking a pie to the face for every $1000 raised.
Dementia is the fastest growing healthcare issue of our time and many of our friends and family have been impacted by this disease. The money raised will help fund programs, research and education.
