My dad had Alzheimer's. He lost his battle in March 2026. I had been slowly saying goodbye to him over the past 5 years. Every time I left a visit I had to say goodbye to that version of him.
The Alzheimer's Society had a huge impact on my family throughout the past 5 years. It created a sense of community, introduced my mom to her ongoing support group, and helped them make life-long friends.
He was kind, loyal, curious, and funny. He always believed in me and was my biggest fan. He taught me the beauty of a walk in nature, the value of friendship the magic of the post-dinner mingle, and the cure to a hangover. I am who I am in large part because of him.
I am forever grateful for the kindness and support this organization. It is for these reasons I am a proud board member
