Help me hit my stride and raise $3000 for dementia support in NS!
Hi friends!
It's that time of year - time to raise $3000 to support the incredible work of the Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia!
This year, I'm coming full circle after my 2024 hip surgery - I'll be showing you what my surgically-improved hip can do by training for the 5KM in the Bluenose Marathon!
I'm not sure if I can - but I sure as heck am gonna try! I've run the Bluenose many times before - but I'm getting older, and my body is changing. Modifying exercise to fit ability and staying active is a core component of living well with dementia - so I'm going to live those values and adapt my approach accordingly!
And to motivate folks to donate - when I hit my goal, I'll reward you with one of my 'legendary' (read: cringe) musically-themed thank-you videos!
This is gonna be fun!
Please consider making a donation. Dementia affects almost 20,000 people in NS - and tens of thousands more who care for them. That number will surge past 30,000 in coming years. My Grandma passed from this cruel disease in the 1980s - and I'm sad to say that over 40 years later the issues she faced are still affecting people today.
With almost 200,000 Nova Scotians without access to primary care, our work is more critical than ever.
Your donation WILL help - thank you for your support!
