Our Centre has contributed to the Alzheimer Society through this walk for more than 10 years. Over the years we have raised close to $40,000 and our commitment continues as we invite past and present staff and students of the Centre and the broader MSVU community to participate in this initiative.
Funds raised through the IG Wealth Management Walk for Alzheimer’s help raise money on behalf of the Alzheimer Society, so the Society can meet the growing demand for its programs and services. Fundraising through the annual Walk is very important to the Society. They were one of the community organizations whose gvt funding was slated to be cut significantly in spring of 2026. While the funding cut did not proceed, it is difficult to know what the next year's gvt funding cycle will look like for organizations like this.
