So the 2025 Walk for Alzheimer’s has come and gone for another year. There was a tremendous turnout of participants and unlike last year when the heavens decided to pour down on us relentlessly, this year was sunny for the most part although a wee bit on the cool side. Everyone’s enthusiasm was really high. So I walked the walk as I like to say.

A small orchestra played the whole while and all the sponsors had tables set up advertising their wares and providing small incentives and goodies for the participants. Like the Alzheimer’s Society that had a basket of Brookside chocolate covered blueberries which I only ate in order to keep my sugar/energy level up for the walk. I also have enough little packages of nasal tissue to last me through the next cough and cold season.

Now on a personal note. I’m deeply touched and overwhelmed by the generosity of all of you for sponsoring me in this walk, and, for your words of encouragement and support. As most of you are aware, Alzheimer’s is a deeply personal thing for me, as it took my wife Kate from me a little more than 2 years ago.

My personal achievements for this walk are:
Total raised - $1,800.00.
Steps accumulated throughout May - 56,920.
Kilometers walked - 43.78 kM.

Total raised in Ontario as of sometime on May 29th - $2,475,506 and still counting. This is not the final total.

So a huge thank you to all of you. Someday this horrid disease will be beaten and no one else will have to go through this.
