Welcome to my Participant Page!
The prevalence of Alzheimer's disease in Canada is forecasted to increase 203% by 2050, relative to 2020, which is a call to action.
My name is Margaret, and I am in my 4th year of my undergraduate degree at McMaster University. I have dedicated my academic career to research on Alzheimer's, where I am currently investigating the cellular and molecular underpinnings of Alzheimer’s-related cognitive decline. Along with my passion for advancing Alzheimer's research, I am also passionate about supporting families and caregivers of those affected by this devastating disease. From past volunteer experience with the VON Adult Day Program, my current role as a Community Ambassador with the Hamilton branch of the Alzheimer's Society, and having experienced the devastating reality of loved ones affected by dementia, I am determined to contribute to the fight against Alzheimer's and work toward a future with better treatments and supports for those living with dementia.
I am participating once again in the IG Wealth Management Walk for Alzheimer's, and if you are interested in joining me in this fight, I encourage you to consider making a donation to my fundraising page by clicking "Donate Now". 100% of all proceeds will go directly to the Alzheimer's Society, whose mission is to provide support to people living with dementia, their families, and caregivers. The Alzheimer's Society is also committed to enhancing dementia research through leading fundraising efforts, while raising public awareness about Alzheimer's disease and dementias.
Together, we can make a meaningful impact in the fight against Alzheimer's disease. Every contribution, no matter the size, brings us one step closer to a world with better support, treatment, and care for those living with dementia. Thank you so much for your generosity and support. Let’s continue to raise awareness and work toward a brighter future for those affected by this disease
