Why I Walk
This walk is deeply personal to me.
My mom, Sandy, is living with Alzheimer’s. Watching someone you love change and slowly forget you is heartbreaking. Not just for the person diagnosed, but for caregivers and families who walk this journey alongside them every single day. Alzheimer’s affects memories, independence, relationships, and the simple moments we once took for granted.
On May 30, 2026, I’ll be participating in the IG Wealth Management Walk for Alzheimer’s in Brantford in honour of my mom and in support of everyone facing this disease. I’m walking to help raise awareness and funds for the Alzheimer Society, whose programs and services provide vital support, education, and connection for people living with dementia and the loved ones who care for them.
If you’re able to donate, please know that no amount is too small. Every donation helps fund critical programs and brings us one step closer to better care, better support, and ultimately, a world without Alzheimer’s.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story, for supporting this cause, and for walking beside us in spirit.
With gratitude,
Stephanie
