IG Wealth Management Walk for Alzheimer's - Dufferin County 2025

Thanks to your support and commitment, since 2015 from coast to coast, we’ve raised over $50M to date. These critical funds help us provide and connect people to information, services and community programs such as counselling, respite care, support groups and more for people living with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia across Canada.

Today, over 650,000 Canadians live with dementia and that number is expected to rise to 1 million by 2030. We need your continued support to ensure that people living with dementia, and those who love and care for them, have the resources they need, close to home .

Over 1,500 people live with dementia in Dufferin County alone and this year our fundraising goal is $60,000.00!

How to Participate:

1. Register online to start fundraising

2. Invite your friends and family to join your team, or support local families living with dementia by making a donation

3. Walk on Sunday, May 25 - Join us for refreshments, prizes, food & fun

4. Share your celebrations on Social Media and tag us @alzheimerdufferin

Check in at 9 am and enjoy coffee, tea, and snacks compliments of our local Tim Hortons! The Town Crier will kick off the activities and our team will give some brief opening remarks. During this time you can buy raffle tickets to win some amazing prizes from local businesses.

Just before 10, we will lead you through a short warm up and at 10 - off we go to walk the beautiful 5 k trail at Island Lake.

Once we are done walking, we will be giving out prizes for some special categories (think craziest outfit, biggest team, youngest walker, oldest walker) and complimentary lunch will be served thanks to Road Grill Food Truck and Lemonheaven.

Get those last minute raffle tickets in and spend some time at our memorial path honouring our loved ones.

Around 12:30 we will draw the raffle winners and THANK everyone for joining us and to say see you next year!
