Here we are again - another walk for Alzheimer’s to raise awareness, fund research, and honour the loved ones who have become more than memories, but part of this disease’s story.
My experience with Alzheimer’s and dementia began at a young age. I was the grandchild of not one, but two incredible people who battled this devastating disease - my Nanny, Mary Sadler, and my Grandpa, Frank Cawkell Sr.
I witnessed firsthand the toll it takes, not only on those diagnosed, but on the families and caregivers who love them deeply. Faces once met with recognition and warmth slowly become unfamiliar. “I love you” turns into “Who are you?” - and there’s truly nothing more heartbreaking.
If you’re able and feel inclined to support me on this walk, I would be so grateful. Every contribution helps fund research, support caregivers, and bring hope to the many families navigating this journey.
Thank you - it means more than you know.
