This year, the walk for Alzheimer’s holds profound new significance for me. On January 2, 2025, my dad lost his battle with Alzheimer’s. Since that heartbreaking day, I have come to cherish the goodness he brought into my life. The blessings he shared during his impactful 76 years will always remain in my heart. My dad was remarkable, leaving behind a legacy that will never fade.

As I have done in previous years, I will walk for him this year; however, this time, I will walk in honour of his memory. I deeply miss holding his hand, discussing my job with him, and seeing his radiant smile, which could brighten even the darkest days. He managed to share that smile, even in his final moments when words escaped him. His smile transformed everything. Though I can look back at photos and hold onto those memories, I will always long for his presence.

Dad, I love you and miss you deeply. My family and I will walk for you and for everything you accomplished in your life.
