Thank you for supporting me in raising awareness and funds that will make a difference in the lives of people living with dementia, their caregivers and families.

I’m participating in the IG Wealth Management Virtual Walk for Alzheimer’s on May 24 2025 to help raise money on behalf of the Alzheimer Society, so they can meet the growing demand for programs and services. 

As many of you know, dementia has touched my family, first with my grandma Alma, and many others since then. Unfortunately, it is the reality that dementia rates are continuing to rise and will double across Canada by 2030. Here in Durham Region, I’ve witnessed the increase in demand of ASDR’s services, which has almost doubled over the past year. I’ve also seen firsthand how essential it is for individuals living with dementia and their care partners to have the right support, care, and services to live well with dementia.

The Walk is ASDR’s biggest fundraiser and is an opportunity to help fund vital programs and services that ASDR provides to enable those living with this disease, and those caring for someone with this disease to lead fulfilling, meaningful lives. The funds raised go directly to supporting local services and supports that ASDR provides for both care partners and persons living with dementia, including:
