Hi all,

Over the past 12 years, I have walked in the upcoming Walk for Alzheimers supporting the programs and services delivered by the Alzheimer Society Durham Region.  Many of you have been so kind in past years in sponsoring my walk and I thank you for that kind support.  Alzheimer's disease is impacting so many and the numbers  continue to increase dramatically.  I hope that you can consider sponsoring the Walk again this year.

As in past years, I walk in memory of my  mother, Ina Arnold, who lived with Alzheimer's disease for nearly ten years.  I know the challenges the disease presents for loved ones and it was through the Alzheimer Society Durham Region that I found the information & support that our family needed to help Mom live her best life while living with the disease.  Through the Alzheimer Society, I was able to attend educational workshops and get the support I needed to address whatever situation arose.  Although we lost my mother ten years ago, her spirit lives on in our family and I think about her every day.  I wish that she had never faced the disease, but I was thankful that I had the Alzheimer Society to rely upon.
