As a member of the Board of Directors for the Alzheimer Society of Durham Region, I am amazed at how resilient our organization has been in the disruptive time with Covid - 19. The Society deals almost exclusively with vulnerable seniors - persons with the disease and their caregivers. Historically our annual IG Wealth Management Walk for Alzheimer’s drew out enormous crowds and is a major fundraising activity. During the pandemic we have had to convert to a virtual walk where social distancing could be respected. We are excited to be back walking in person.
The Alzheimer Society provides essential programs and services that work to effectively alleviate the personal and social consequences of Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias within our community.
