I’m taking part in the IG Wealth Management Walk for Alzheimer’s in Ajax on Saturday, May 30th, to help raise vital funds for the Alzheimer Society of Durham Region. This organization provides essential programs and support for families in our community who are living with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias.
This will be my first Walk—the first of many —in memory of my grandmother and in honour of everyone affected by dementia, as well as the caregivers who support them every day.
There are nearly 12,000 people living with dementia in Durham Region, many of whom rely on the Alzheimer Society for guidance and care. Funds raised through the Walk help provide counselling, support groups, education, and social and recreational programs for individuals and families navigating dementia.
