This year, my sister and I are taking part in the 'Walk for Alzheimer's.
Dementia is impacting more and more families every day, and through both our work in healthcare and our own family, we have seen just how important support and resources are.
We named our team after our grandmother, Reta, who passed in August 2024. She was always the brightest and most welcoming light in our lives. Even through everything, her kindness never faded.
We are walking not only in her honour, but in honour of all those impacted, and to support local programs and services through the Alzheimer Society of Durham Region, from support groups to education and resources that help people live well and feel less alone.
