This year I will walk and also volunteer in Owen Sound on Saturday May 30th.
It is my honour to walk to support Hope Bay resident Doug Kalbfleisch who is on the dementia journey. Doug has been on this journey before with his wife Linda, who sadly passed in 2019 a day after her 80th birthday. Doug still maintains his quirky sense of humour and likes to tell stories of when he was a younger man. Doug is able to remain at home with his friend Wanita. Together they look after each other and take each day as it comes. Doug is also supported by his daughter Cory and son Dean as he continues along this dementia journey.
I will walk a kilometre for every $100 that I raise to support Doug and all others who are on the dementia journey. Last year I walked over 30 km!!
One day there will be a cure.All money raised stays with Grey Bruce Alzheimer's to support families on the dementia journey.
