Thank you for supporting me in raising awareness and funds that will make a difference in the lives of people living with dementia, their caregivers and families.

I’m participating in the IG Wealth Management Walk for Alzheimer’s in memory of my grandparents; Josephine and Carl Bondi.  Both of my grandparents suffered from Alzheimer's, and although they lived a comfortable life at St Lawrence Lodge, it was devastating to see them go through it.  Those who are friends with me on Facebook, may remember the many pictures and memories I shared on each visit.  Some of you may even remember me celebrating online when I would visit and my "SugarGran" would actually recognize me.  

If you have been lucky enough to not have to see a loved one going into decline with this horrible disease, please try to imagine visiting a brother, a father, or a grandmother, and them not knowing as much as your name.  They don't know if you are related.  They don't even know if they have met you before.  They don't know if they are hungry.  They may not even know where they are or that they are safe there.  It truly is devastating to see. 

Once again this year, I am helping to raise money on behalf of the Alzheimer Society, so they can meet the growing demand for programs and services. These and other resources make all the difference in the way that people affected by dementia are able to manage the disease and live life to the fullest.
