Dear Friend/Supporter,

Thank you for supporting my journey to fight Alzheimer’s disease. 

This year I have committed to participating in the Walk for Alzheimer’s because the Alzheimer Society provides essential programs and services that work to effectively alleviate the personal and social consequences of Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias within our community. 

I will be doing the walk at Mother Teresa Secondary School on Saturday May 25, 2024. I will also do the 13,500 steps by that time on my own.  By making a donation to my fundraising page, you are helping the Alzheimer Society to continue its important work towards a world without Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias. 

I WILL BE DOING THIS WALK  IN MEMORY OF MY DEAR, DEAR MOM ,MARIA and MY DEAR AUNT OLGA.  As those of you might remember that the first 2 years of the pandemic, I had done this walk virtually by pushing my mom in her Broda wheelchair around her East London neighbourhood.  It was an honour and pleasure  to do so and I miss doing that with her these last 3 years.  Mom died  in November 2021 and as many of you who have lost loved ones know I continue to miss her dearly.    I treasure the times I had with my mom and was allowed  to help take care of her and love her unconditionally as Alzheimer's took its toll on her speaking and communicating abilities.  It was her eyes that did the communicating  in her final months. I have also come aware of colleagues and friends who are showing signs or suffering from this disease. 

 I also know that there are many needy causes asking you for donations but this is very personal for me.  So I hope I can count on your support again this year. Thanking you in advance for your generosity, your kindness and your loving care.  Obrigado.
