I am participating in the Walk for Alzheimer’s because of family and friends who have had dementia and many other people I know whose lives have been affected by dementia.  Dementia can cause a lot of suffering for those who have it and for those who love them and wish to support them.  It can also give rise to a very tender and special love, and many moments of really beautiful connection.

The Alzheimer Society provides programs and services to help alleviate the suffering and bring more moments of peace and joy to those impacted by dementia.  Some of their programs have been of great benefit to me, my family and close friends.
