As you may or may not know, my mom Sandy, was diagnosed with Early-Onset Alzheimer's disease in March 2018, at the age of 58. This diagnosis has forever changed her life and our family. 

Luckily, she was able to live at home with my dad, her best friend and caregiver until January 2023 when she had to be hospitalized. She was not able to return home and was transferred to a long-term care facility where she currently lives and receives wonderful care. I will be forever grateful to the hardworking PSWs, nurses and other staff who work with and care for her, even on her spiciest of days! This facility is her entire world and they are helping her live her life to the fullest. 

This will be the second year my family will honour my mom by participating in the IG Wealth Management Walk for Alzheimer’s in St. Thomas at Pinafore Park on May 24th to help raise money on behalf of the Alzheimer Society. 

There is a growing demand for programs and services and my family has seen first hand how they can make all the difference.
