Thank you for supporting me in raising awareness and funds that will make a difference in the lives of people living with Alzheimers and various forms of dementia, their caregivers and families.
As some of you might know, dementia has been an unwelcome guest within our family. We are grateful for the support that we receive from the Elgin Alzheimer's Society and their amazing staff as they help us learn about this disease and navigate the twists and turns that it takes within our lives as a family.
I am participating in my 4th IG Wealth Management Walk for Alzheimer’s in St. Thomas on Sunday May 31st in honour of my Dad, to help raise awareness and money on behalf of the Alzheimer Society, so they can meet the growing demand for programs and services. These and other resources make all the difference in the way that people affected by dementia and their caregivers are able to manage the disease and live life to the fullest.
Over the next few weeks, I will be sharing some of my favourite moments, thoughts and struggles that have come about as a result of this disease on my Facebook page. Of course my prayer would be that we could go back and not have to go on this journey, but I am learning to look for "the moments" and find joy in them because this is where we are at in life.
Thank you for whatever donation you can make. Thanks to the generosity of family and friends, I have raised close to $10,000. over the past 3 years.
