Thank you for supporting me in raising awareness and funds that will make a difference in the lives of people living with dementia, their caregivers and families. This is personal for me as my grandmother had dementia and many of my residents who I care for have it.
By 2030, researchers project that nearly 1 million people in Canada will be living with dementia, and more than 1.7 million by 2050. Dementia is not a specific disease. It is a set of symptoms caused by numerous disorders that affect the brain. Alzheimer's is the most common disorder that causes dementia. Approximately 6.3 million people in Canada will develop, live with, and die with dementia between 2020 and 2050.
I’m participating in the IG Wealth Management Walk for Alzheimer’s in Woodstock on May 30th, 2026 to help raise money on behalf of the Alzheimer Society, so they can meet the growing demand for programs and services. These and other resources make all the difference in the way that people affected by dementia are able to manage the disease and live life to the fullest.
