Once again, our family will be participating in the IG Wealth Management Walk for Alzheimer's to raise awareness and funds for the Alzheimer Society. This organization is crucial in meeting the growing demand for programs and services that improve the daily lives of those living with Dementia and Alzheimer's. This year's event will be held at Brock University on Sunday, May 25, 2025.

As many of you know, this cause is very close to our hearts. Our Mama/Nana is battling late-stage Alzheimer's at just 66 years old. We are witnessing firsthand how this incurable disease is rapidly taking her away from us. We walk to support research efforts aimed at finding a cure or, at the very least, making it easier for patients and their families to receive a formal diagnosis.

Mama began showing signs of early-onset Dementia at only 55 years old. It took over three years of fighting, advocating, and speaking up for her health and well-being to finally receive a formal diagnosis and put more resources in place to help both Mama and my Dad.

We also walk to support the incredible programs available for caregivers, loved ones, and patients. These programs truly make a difference and are vital resources for families navigating this journey. Watching a loved one progress through the stages of Alzheimer's is like riding a never-ending rollercoaster.
