2026 marks our 6th year walking in the IG Wealth Management Walk for Alzheimer’s, a meaningful event dedicated to raising awareness and crucial funds for the Alzheimer Society. The work this organization does is more vital than ever, helping meet the growing demand for programs and services that improve the daily lives of those living with Dementia and Alzheimer’s.
This year’s walk will take place at Brock University on Sunday, May 31, 2026, and we would be honoured to have your support.
As many of you know, this cause is deeply personal to our family. Our Mama/Nana is currently battling late-stage Alzheimer’s at just 67 years old. We are witnessing firsthand how this devastating, incurable disease slowly takes pieces of her away from us each day. We walk to support research efforts that aim to find a cure—or at the very least—to make it easier and faster for individuals and families to receive a formal diagnosis and access support.
Mama began showing signs of early-onset Dementia at only 55 years old. It took more than three years of advocating, fighting, and speaking up for her health and well-being before she finally received a diagnosis. That diagnosis allowed us to put critical resources in place to support both Mama and my Dad—resources no family should have to fight so hard to obtain.
We also walk to support the incredible programs available for caregivers, loved ones, and patients. These services truly make a difference and are essential for families navigating this exhausting and emotional journey. Watching someone you love move through the stages of Alzheimer’s can feel like a never-ending rollercoaster—one that no family should have to ride alone.
Thank you for considering a donation. No matter the size, every contribution helps support those affected by Dementia and Alzheimer’s, along with the caregivers and families who walk beside them every step of the way.
