Today, we are at a tipping point. The number of people living with dementia, including Alzheimer’s disease, is growing rapidly. Every day, more than 414 people in Canada develop dementia (more than 17 every hour) that’s why it’s so important we continue the conversation, raise funds, and spread awareness in our local community.
On Sunday, May 31st, I will be participating in the IG Wealth Management Walk for Alzheimer’s at Brock University. When you donate to this event, you are providing support to the 12,477 individuals, their families, and care partners living with Alzheimer's and dementias in the Niagara Region.
Funds raised from our WALK for ALZHEIMER’S fundraising campaign will help provide:
- Counselling, support groups, and respite care for people living with dementia and their families.
- Social Recreation Programs such as: Art Expressions (Art Therapy), Power of Music (Music Therapy) & Minds in Motion (Physical & Social Activities).
- Education and training opportunities for health care professionals, local businesses, and the community to help make Niagara Region more dementia-friendly.
Thank you for whatever donation you can make. No matter how small or big, you are making a difference in the lives of people affected by dementia. Thank you for your generous commitment and support. Together we can make a difference!
