We're back at it again this year, with the Barbosa family joining the annual Walk for Alzheimer’s! We walk in memory of my dad Roland, who had the biggest heart, a great laugh and the best smile around! He was just 59 when diagnosed, and passed away in July 2018. I miss him all the damn time. He would have loved on my girls so hard, and given them so many chocolates and lollipops behind my back :P His sweet tooth was certainly inherited by all 3 of us lol.

The Walk is Canada’s biggest fundraiser for Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias, and in particular, your donations go towards the Alzheimer’s Society Peel chapter. The ASP provides essential programs and services to alleviate the personal and social consequences of Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias within our community.

And these services are more important than ever... As of 2016, there are an estimated 564,000 Canadians living with dementia - plus about 25,000 new cases diagnosed every year. By 2031, that number is expected to rise to 937,000, an increase of 66 per cent. By making a donation to me, you are helping the Alzheimer Society to continue its important work towards a world without Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias.
