Dear Friends and Supporters,
Walking forward together –
Turning 28 years of care into a lasting impact –

For 28 years I have had the honour and privilege of serving as the Executive Director of the Alzheimer Society Huron Perth. In that time, I witnessed firsthand the profound impact dementia has on our community. While this marks the end of an extraordinary chapter for me, I am determined to ensure my legacy continues to make a meaningful difference for individuals and families living with dementia.
Throughout my career, I have been a passionate advocate, compassionate leader, and tireless champion for people affected by Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias. Countless families have found education, guidance, support, and hope during some of the most challenging times of their lives. Over the years, I have watched programs strengthen, community awareness expanded, and more people seeking out our programs and services.
As a final gift to the Society, I have set a personal goal: to raise $28,000 in honour of my 28 years of service through the IG Wealth Management Walk for Alzheimer's. This campaign reflects my enduring commitment to the mission of the Society. As I am preparing to step away from my role this July, I do so with immense gratitude and a deep sense of responsibility to ensure that this critical work continues to grow and reach those who need it most.
I invite you to stand with me, to walk with me, and to be part of the legacy we continue to build together. Every dollar raised will directly support vital local programs and services, including education, support groups, social recreation programs and resources that help individuals affected by dementia remain connected and engaged.
Your contribution, whatever size, will make an extraordinary impact and ensure that no one living with dementia will face it alone. Thank you for your generosity, your compassion, and your continued support of the Alzheimer Society Huron Perth. You are helping make memories matter.
“Building a Legacy of care –
One step, One Family, One Community at a time.”
With sincere appreciation,
Cathy Ritsema
