I’m participating in the IG Wealth Management Walk for Alzheimer’s at Extendicare Port Hope on Friday, May 30th to help raise money on behalf of the Alzheimer Society, so they can meet the growing demand for programs and services. These and other resources make all the difference in the way that people affected by dementia are able to manage the disease and live life to the fullest.
Extendicare Port Hope is grateful for the support the Alzheimer Society provides to our Residents, Family Members and Staff.
~90% of our Residents living at Extendicare Port Hope have a dementia diagnosis. We count on and value there support and are happy to have the opportunity to give back to them.
Our team has set a goal to raise $1449.00. This number represents the 14 490 people living with dementia in our Alzheimer Society Region.
My personal goal is to take 14 490 steps each day in the month of May to recognize these individuals.
This is my third year participating in the Walk for Alzheimer's, and in just 2 years the number of people living with dementia in our region has grown by 2000. With our aging population, dementia is the fastest growing health concern in Canada. The Alzheimer Society needs our support!
