Hi Everyone! On May 25th, 2025, I will once again be walking in the IG Wealth Management Walk for Alzheimer's. This cause remains near and dear to my heart as I lost two very influential women to this disease, my Nonna and my aunt Fidia. As an employee of the Alzheimer Society of Sault Ste. Marie and Algoma District, this walk is of great importance as it helps to raise funds that remain local and help to support local programming. Our Society has many services that it offers to individuals in our community who are travelling along the Dementia Journey. For example, The Society offers cognitive testing to help people experiencing cognitive changes determine if they may have a dementia diagnosis. We also offer programs for community members and their families including our Adult Day Program (6 hour program for person living with dementia, which provides 6 hours respite to care partners), Transition Support Program (helps people in community to transition from their private home into long-term care), In home Recreation Therapy Program (1 hour in home program to activate person living with dementia) and so much more (coffee club, walking program, get crafty, care partner support groups, grief groups). If it was not for local fundraising efforts and donations from community members such as yourself, our programs would not be available to support others. 

Thanks to your support and generous donations last year, I was able to raise close to $1000.00. My goal for this year's walk is to raise $1000.00, not only in memory of my Nonna and my aunt, but also in honour of the clients and families I serve on a daily basis. I know that many families, just like mine, have been greatly impacted by a person receiving receiving a dementia diagnosis.
