Hello!
I will once again be supporting the walk in May in memory of my dad Louie who had mixed dementia, and passed away 14 years ago, and walking for the people we serve at the local Alzheimer Society.
I will be outside walking my dog, and going on hiking and bicycling adventures leading up to the day of the in-person walk on May 31st.
My dad loved to walk with his dog Brutus. (there were 4 Brutus' over the years) My dad's birthday was in November and he always challenged himself to jog 10 miles with his faithful dog by his side on his birthday. Rain, sleet or snow didn't deter them from going out and he did this until his late 70's.
You never think that your family will be affected by the disease. The support and knowledge that I received at the Alzheimer's Society helped our family cope with the changes that were happening so quickly.
The team of compassionate and knowledgeable staff at the local Society are there to help you with navigating the health care system and let you know of supports that are available from the Alzheimer Society office as well as in the community.
Please help me make a difference by making a secure online donation to support essential services that make such a difference in our community.
Thank you so much, Bea
