On May 26, 2024, I participated in the IG Wealth Management Walk for Alzheimer’s in Barrie.  Working with older adults, I appreciate the importance of the role of the Alzheimer Society.  This year,  I am walking for a more personal reason.  I am walking for my mom.  She was the light that guided my way through life.  Dementia dimmed that light over the last several years of her life, but there would be moments when that light would shine through.  Those moments reminded me of her strength and determination to break through.  Living with dementia is incredibly hard.  It is equally hard on family and friends.  That is why the Alzhiemer Society is so important.  Their resources and services make an important difference in the way that people affected by dementia are able to manage the disease and live life to the fullest.
