Dear Friends,

My beautiful mother has been quickly fading away because she has Alzheimer’s. This disease has drastically changed who she is.  Once an incredibly energetic, independent, wonderful and caring person, filled with life and in her element when with family and friends, she is now scared, doesn’t know where she is or who she is; she doesn’t speak and cries all day; she doesn’t know anyone around her and is totally dependent on her 3 daughters. 

We hug and kiss her.  As there is no cure for Alzheimer's, all we can do is calm and comfort her and this is not easy.  It is heartbreaking to see my mother continue like this because we are unable to improve her health; there is so much suffering and there is no cure.  

You can just look at my mother and her expression tells a truly painful story.
