This year’s Walk for Alzheimer’s in Toronto carries a deep meaning for our family

We walk for Rick — a wonderful husband, father, stepfather, grandfather, and Pepé — who faces each day with courage as he lives with Alzheimer’s.

And we walk for Deb, my incredible mom, whose love, patience, and quiet strength as his caregiver inspire all of us more than words can say.

This journey hasn’t been easy, but none of us walk it alone. My sister Sarah and Rick’s son Jeff have both been part of this journey — sharing in the heartache, the laughter, the small victories, and the precious memories we hold close.

Caregiving is an act of love. So is remembering.

Every step we take during the Walk for Alzheimer’s is a promise: that we will keep showing up, loving fiercely, and honoring every beautiful piece of who Rick is.

We are proud to walk as Team Rob-Bas, carrying Rick’s strength, Deb’s devotion, and our family’s love every step of the way.

We walk for the memories, for the moments we still share, and for hope.
