Thank you for supporting me in raising awareness and funds that will make a difference in the lives of people living with dementia, their caregivers and families.
I am walking in "Walk for Alzheimer's" because in our home we are living with frontotemporal dementia (FTD). My husband, Eric was diagnosed three years ago and this impacts our whole family.
FTD is unique as it impacts people younger than other forms of dementia; it is the most common form of dementia for people under 60. It affects the frontal and temporal lobes of the brain, which leads to changes in personality, behaviour, language, and movement. FTD is associated with a genetic component, which is how it impacts families for generations.
This year I am walking not only to raise funds but also to raise awareness and support for those living with or impacted by FTD. So that one day there can be better treatments and maybe even one day a cure.
Thank you for whatever donation you can make. No matter how small or big, you are making a difference in the lives of people affected by dementia. Donate Now!
Thank you again for your generous commitment and support.
