Thank you so much for supporting me as I raise awareness and funds for the Alzheimer Society. This cause hits very near and dear to my heart, as my family has been directly impacted by this devastating disease.
Alzheimer’s doesn’t just affect the person diagnosed — it affects every single person who loves them too. Watching someone you love slowly struggle to navigate the world, memories, conversations, and everyday life is something incredibly difficult to put into words. One of the hardest parts is grieving someone while they’re still here — longing for the person you once knew so deeply, while still loving the person standing in front of you just as much.
Growing up, I was always right beside my Nonna in the kitchen. Some of my favourite memories in life were made cooking alongside her, learning recipes that were never written down, only made from memory, instinct, and love. I couldn’t wait to see what we’d make next.
Now, I make those same meals for her using everything she taught me. No matter how closely I follow her steps though, it never tastes quite as good as hers did.
I’m beyond grateful for every memory we’ve shared and every moment I still get to have alongside her. Alzheimer’s may change parts of a person, but it never changes how deeply they are loved.
Every donation — big or small — helps support individuals and families affected by Alzheimer’s and dementia through programs, resources, and care that truly make a difference. Thank you for supporting this cause and helping families like mine feel a little less alone.
