Dear Friends,
Thanks for getting to my personal page.
Every year for the past few years, I wondered if I can do this ride again. And every year I find myself saying, yeah, I can and should do this. And then I decide to go a little further, to challenge myself.
However, I am sure I am getting closer to my limit for a day ride. This year I am planning a 260k ride around Lake Simcoe from my home here in North York. But at least I don't have the challenges that Alzheimer's can bring to oneself, and one's family.
I have had my experience of a head injury while cycling a couple of years ago. While it was temporarily debilitating, it wasn't a life-long sentence like Alzheimer's is.
But there is every hope, with research and new treatments, that we can make a difference. Until then, the aim is to provide resources to those suffering with this disease, and their families.
