I am walking in honour of my mom, who was diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer’s disease.
For more than 8 years, my family and I have been grieving the slow loss of the woman we love while watching this devastating disease take her from us piece by piece, right in front of our eyes. Alzheimer’s does not only affect memory — it changes an entire family’s life and leaves a heartbreak that is difficult to put into words.
I am participating in the Walk this year to raise awareness for brain health, to honour my mom, and to support other families going through the same painful journey. No family should feel alone while facing dementia.
The Alzheimer Society provides important programs, education, support, and resources that help families navigate the emotional and practical challenges that come with this disease. As dementia continues to impact more people every year, these services are needed more than ever.
Please consider donating to help us reach our fundraising goal. Every donation helps support families affected by Alzheimer’s and contributes to awareness, advocacy, and research for a future without dementia.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support, kindness, and for helping mr honour my mom and everyone affected by this terrible disease
