There’s a particular kind of heartbreak in watching someone you love slowly lose pieces of themselves. My grandmother has been struggling with Alzheimer's disease for the past few years, and I’ve seen firsthand the toll it has taken on our entire family — especially my grandfather, who has stood beside her through every difficult moment.
Watching someone’s memories fade, and seeing the confusion and pain in their eyes when they no longer remember, is something no person or family should ever have to endure. I’m walking to support the fight against this cruel disease in hopes that one day fewer families will have to experience the heartbreak that so many do today.
Thank you for supporting me in raising awareness and funds that will make a difference in the lives of people living with dementia, their caregivers and families.
Help me raise money on behalf of the Alzheimer Society, so they can meet the growing demand for programs and services. These and other resources make all the difference in the way that people affected by dementia are able to manage the disease and live life to the fullest.
