This will be the 5th year since moving back to PEI that I have participated like Ron in the annual Alzheimer Society Walk at the Charlottetown, PE location. Over those years Ron's initial diagnosis of Mild Cognitive Impairment has progressed to that of Alzheimer's dementia. The connections with services and resources that the Alzheimer's Society of PEI has provided us have allowed both of us to manage the added challenges that accompany any long term progressive health issue. I am happy to simply make you aware of the walk in 3 locations across PEI during the last weekend of March and invite any who are able to join in a walk for all ages and levels of walkers in Montague, Summerside or Charlottetown. Events are happening nationally so any non-Islanders may discover a walk in their part of the country.
Should you choose to make a financial donation towards my goal or Ron's, thank you for whatever you choose to offer. No matter how small or big, you are making a difference in the lives of people affected by dementia.
With gratitude ...Margie
