As you may or may not know, I lost my mom to Alzheimer’s on March 8 of this year after a very long, hard decade. This disease forever changes everyone it touches- from the individual who slowly looses pieces of themselves, to the family members watching their loved one die over and over again as more of them slips away each day. I have participated in this walk for the last couple of years, and this year will be the first year doing it knowing that my journey with this horrible disease has finally come to an end. So my ask of each of you- is to hug your loved ones close, cherish every moment you have together as you never know when the last one may be. And if you want to, please join me on May 30 to raise awareness and funds for research so that one day- no one else has to go thru the heartbreak of watching their loved one die day by day till there is nothing left.
