The Walk is the largest annual fundraising event for the Alzheimer Society of B.C. and provides an opportunity for communities to take action to change the future for the over 85,000 British Columbians living with dementia and the people who care for them. The event is also an opportunity for us to honour and remember the people in our lives who have been affected by Alzheimer’s disease or another dementia

Funds raised at the Walk will help provide local programs and services for families on the dementia journey and enable research into the causes of and cure for the disease. We couldn’t do this work without the generous efforts of our fundraisers!

Fundraising tips

Some of our top fundraisers have shared their secrets to success to help you kick-start and continue your fundraising:

  • Add a link to your personal fundraising page in the footer of your email signature.

  • Ask 10 family members, friends or colleagues to donate $25 each, or whatever amount you like!

  • Post your story on social media and tell people why you’re fundraising. Tag @AlzheimerBC and use the hashtag #WalkForAlzheimers.

We’ve also prepared some helpful tips and tricks on how to start and boost your fundraising.

Collecting donations offline

We encourage you to use the website as much as possible to collect donations online, but if you do receive cash or cheques please complete this pledge formbefore you arrive at the Walk on event day.
