About the Walk
The IG Wealth Management Walk for Alzheimer’s, presented by Go Auto, is the Alzheimer Society of BC and Yukon's largest fundraising event, seeing participants in communities across the province walk together to raise funds and awareness and honour people affected by dementia. The Walk provides an opportunity for communities to take action to change the future for the more than 85,000 British Columbians living with dementia and the people who care for them.
Funds raised will help provide in-person and virtual programs, services and education for families on the dementia journey, providing the support they need to maintain the best possible quality of life throughout the progression of the disease, as well as enabling critical research to change the future of the disease. We couldn’t do this work without the generous efforts of our fundraisers and donors!
Join more than 2,000 fellow British Columbians on Sunday, May 31, 2026 to show people living with dementia, as well as their families and caregivers, they don’t have to walk the journey alone.
2026 Abbotsford Walk Honouree

Every person living with dementia, and every caregiver, has a story. Each Walk in BC is dedicated to someone affected by dementia and brings our community together to show our unwavering support for the people in our lives who have been affected by dementia.
This year, we honour Ashley Sharma, a member of the community who has been affected by dementia. To read her story, please click here.
Honourees encourage us to think about our own personal reasons for walking — for a friend, for a partner, for a family member, for ourselves.
By sharing our stories, we give dementia a face, breaking down stigma and inspiring change. What’s your story?
Provincial Walk Patrons — have your donation matched up to $70,000!
A special thank you to the Aune Foundation, the Lecky Foundation and an anonymous donor for their generous support as this year’s Provincial Walk Patrons. Thanks to their leadership, every online donation made to the Walk from now until Sunday, May 31 will be matched dollar for dollar, up to a total of $70,000.
That means every gift made online will go twice as far in providing vital support to individuals and families affected by dementia. With the matching opportunity available only until May 31, now is the time to make your impact go further and help ensure more people receive the care, connection, and support they need.
