About the Walk
The IG Weath Management Walk for Alzheimer’s, presented by Go Auto, is the Alzheimer Society of BC and Yukon's largest fundraising event, seeing participants in communities across the province walk together to raise funds and awareness and honour people affected by dementia. The Walk provides an opportunity for communities to take action to change the future for the more than 85,000 British Columbians living with dementia and the people who care for them.
Funds raised will help provide in-person and virtual programs, services and education for families on the dementia journey, providing the support they need to maintain the best possible quality of life throughout the progression of the disease, as well as enabling critical research to change the future of the disease. We couldn’t do this work without the generous efforts of our fundraisers and donors!
Join more than 2,000 fellow British Columbians on Sunday, May 31, 2026 to show people living with dementia, as well as their families and caregivers, they don’t have to walk the journey alone.
2026 Richmond Walk Honourees

Every person living with dementia, and every caregiver, has a story. Each Walk in BC is dedicated to someone affected by dementia and brings our community together to show our unwavering support for the people in our lives who have been affected by dementia.
This year, we honour Lily and Wing Tham, members of the community who’ve been affected by dementia. To read their story, please click here.
Honourees encourage us to think about our own personal reasons for walking — for a friend, for a partner, for a family member, for ourselves.
Walk Patrons — have your donation matched up to $20,000!

A heartfelt thank you to the Lam Family and the Tham Family Charitable Foundation for their generous support as this year’s Richmond Walk Patrons. In memory of Yvonne Lam, the Lam family will match every online donation, dollar for dollar, up to $10,000 until May 31. In honour of Lily and Wing Tham, the Tham Family Charitable Foundation will also match every online donation, dollar for dollar, up to $10,000 by May 31. Together, this means every gift made online will be doubled—up to $20,000. Don’t miss this opportunity to double your impact—give now, while every matched dollar brings vital support closer to those who need it most.
